Custom WordPress: our own themes and plugins
Most WordPress websites are not slow because of WordPress: they are slow because of the bought template and the twenty plugins piled on top. We build a theme of our own and code what is missing, instead of installing it.
What we do with WordPress
A well-built WordPress carries anything from a neighbourhood website to a demanding corporate one. Badly built, it is a ticking time bomb. The difference is the theme and how many plugins it carries.
Designed and coded for your website, with only what it needs. It weighs a fraction of a template and does not depend on its author keeping it alive.
When a piece is missing we code it, instead of installing a third-party plugin that almost fits and has to be dragged along for years.
Stores with variants, per-customer pricing and stock synced with your POS, without the tangle of extensions that ends up breaking on its own.
Speed measured in Lighthouse, not promised: images, critical CSS, caching and whatever it takes until the numbers are green.
From another platform or another provider, mapping the old URLs and redirecting them one by one, with Search Console monitored afterwards.
Hacked websites, abandoned plugins or providers who vanished. We recover access, clean up and leave the website in good shape.
Your WordPress up to date without having to think about it
An outdated WordPress is the most common way in for a hack. We take care of it: updates, backups, monitoring and speed checks, with someone to call if something fails.
Signs your WordPress needs a check-up
None of these is a disaster on its own, but if three or more sound familiar it is worth looking into before the problem forces you to, instead of the calendar.
We check it for free
Half an hour of consultancy with no obligation: we review speed, security and structure, and tell you with numbers whether it is worth fixing or rebuilding. Even if the answer is that it is fine as it is.
Frequently asked questions
My WordPress site already exists — can you improve it?
Yes: we audit speed, security and SEO, clean up conflicting plugins and build what is missing. No need to start from scratch.
Why don’t you use a bought template?
Because it weighs five times more than necessary, comes with features you will never use and depends on its author keeping it maintained. Two years in it is usually dead weight: slow, hard to touch and full of plugins nobody updates any more.
How many plugins should my WordPress have?
Far fewer than usually get installed. On a shop or services website, three or four well-chosen ones. Every extra plugin is a dependency, a bit more weight and a possible way in.
Can you migrate my website without losing Google rankings?
Yes, and it is part of the job: the old URLs are mapped, redirected one by one, and Search Console is watched for the following weeks. Done properly, no traffic is lost.
Will I be able to update the website myself?
Yes. We hand it over with clear fields and a short training session: changing a text, uploading a photo or adding a product should take minutes from your phone, with no fee per change.
What if my website is hacked or the provider disappeared?
It is one of the most common cases we get. We recover access, clean the infection, close the door they came in through and leave the website with backups and updates current. First we tell you what we found and what it would cost.
Not happy with the website you got through Kit Digital?
We review what you have for free, recover your domain and your content, and give you 30% off the new website.
